Paramount General Plan
State law requires every California city to adopt “a comprehensive long-term general plan.” The City of Paramount’s General Plan (most recently updated in August 2007) guides land development to meet the needs of residents. The General Plan serves as the principal tool for directing growth while maintaining a visually pleasing, safe, and healthy environment. The General Plan represents the efforts of the Paramount community, City Council, and City staff to plan for the future of the City and protect and enhance quality of life.
The General Plan is divided into “elements” – Land Use, Transportation, Resources, Health and Safety, Economic Development, Public Facilities, Environmental Justice, and Housing.

By April 1 of each year, the City reports on the status of implementation of the Paramount General Plan. Important policies, programs, and projects identified in the General Plan are monitored and reported annually.
