Higher education opens the door to opportunity, and yet rising costs can make opportunity feel out of reach. The Paramount Education Partnership (PEP) bridges that gap by providing vital scholarships to help local students pursue their academic goals and build brighter futures. PEP is a unique collaboration between the City of Paramount, the Paramount Unified School District and the Paramount Chamber of Commerce with the objective of reinvesting in Paramount’s youth. Together, these partners are empowering students to unlock their potential and take the next step in their education journey.
Each year, PEP awards scholarships to deserving students who live in the City of Paramount or attend schools within Paramount Unified School District. The program is designed to support students at all stages of their post-secondary education journey — whether they are pursuing a certificate at a trade school, attending community college or earning a degree at a four-year university.
Scholarship amounts include:
- $1,000 for community colleges
- $3,000 for California State Universities, including vocational, trade and technical schools
- $4,000 for Universities of California or an accredited private university
To qualify, applicants must reside in Paramount or attend a Paramount Unified School District school and hold a weighted GPA of at least 2.0. The application window is now open, with a deadline of March 31. Students can apply online through Kaleidoscope: PEP Scholarship Application.
The PEP Scholarship program is made possible through the generosity of the community. Donations from local businesses, organizations and individuals help expand these chances, directly impacting students’ lives. The contribution, no matter the size, fuels the dreams of Paramount’s future leaders.
Awarded scholarships are presented at a special recognition event every year in the summer, where the community comes together to celebrate the youth’s achievements and the collective commitment to supporting education.
