Below is a list of acceptable, NEW AND UNOPENED items as requested by the LA Regional Food Bank:

NEW Non-food Items: deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, lotion, waterless shampoo, phone chargers (battery pack), socks, gloves, hand warmers, beanies, blankets

NEW Food items: Peanut and other Nut Butters, Protein-based snacks (bars, peanut butter, protein cookies), Crackers, Peanut Butter Crackers, Cheeze Crackers, Trail Mix, Fruit Snacks, Energy Bars, Pop Top Tuna, Pop Top Chicken, 100% Juice Boxes, Raisins and other dried fruit, UHT Milk, Individual Cereal Boxes, 16-20 oz water bottles, Non-carbonated drinks

*Please note that all items must be new and unopened, or it will not be accepted by the LA Food Bank.

Support Southern California Wildfire Relief

The recent wildfires in Southern California have resulted in significant destruction, displacing residents and severely impacting infrastructure and communities.

For those wishing to donate or support recovery efforts, a list of organizations providing aid to wildfire victims and first responders is available available below.

American Red Cross

The American Red Cross is providing support to victims, accepting volunteers, and monetary donations to assist in disaster response.  

Red Cross Reunification – For those looking to reconnect with someone impacted by the wildfires, please fill out the form to be entered into the system. 

Red Cross Volunteers – Become a Volunteer – Anyone interested in joining the Red Cross as a volunteer is encouraged to submit a volunteer application.  For groups wishing to volunteer, please email VolunteerServices.LosAngeles.CA@redcross.org

Monetary Donations enable the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to, and help people recover from disasters big and small.

Other Community Resources

 

  • The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is working with government agencies, nonprofit, faith-based partners, and others to respond to the fires throughout Los Angeles County. They are accepting food donations between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at its two distribution centers: 1734 East 41st Street, Los Angeles, 90058, and 2300 Pellissier Place, Industry, 90601.

 

  • The Pasadena Community Foundation has opened the Eaton Canyon Fire Relief and Recovery Fund, providing an opportunity to support immediate and pressing needs even as the fire continues to spread.

 

 

 

  • World Central Kitchen is working with restaurant and food truck partners to provide meals to feed first responders.

 

  • Westside Food Bank provides meals to those in need and is helping with bulk donations of goods during the fires.

 

  • The Salvation Army is providing critical aid, like shelter, food, and support, across southern California through their Emergency Disaster Fund. 

 

  • California City News – A local news outlet focused on city news, has compiled a list of reputable organizations which are accepting donations to assist those impacted by the wildfires.  The list is being updated as additional resources are being identified.
