Planning Commission

The Paramount Planning Commission consists of five members who each serve terms of four years. Commissioners are Paramount residents appointed by individual members of the City Council with full Council approval. The Planning Department provides staff support and recommendations to the Commission.

The Planning Commission develops, maintains, and implements Paramount’s General Plan with regard to the Zoning Ordinance (Title 17 of the Paramount Municipal Code). The Planning Commission typically reviews land use, current planning, zoning, environmental, and development issues and makes recommendations to the City Council.

The Planning Commission meets the 1st Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 16400 Colorado Avenue. These meetings are open to public and agendas are typically posted at least 72 hours prior to meetings.

The Planning Commission also acts as the Development Review Board and Economic Development Board to evaluate projects for quality design, orderly development, and sustainability measures and receives information regarding economic development activities in Paramount.
