Exciting Civic Center Upgrades Set to Enhance Paramount’s Public Spaces

As the City of Paramount looks to the future, two exciting new projects at the Civic Center are set to break ground this spring — each designed to enhance the visitor experience and support the City’s long-term vision for a welcoming, functional and forward-thinking Civic Center campus.

The improvements include a significant upgrade to the Civic Center Fountain and the construction of a new City Hall parking lot. These efforts reflect the City’s continued investment in modernizing public spaces and providing access and amenities for community members, visitors and staff alike.

Construction on the Civic Center Fountain and new parking lot is already underway. Both are expected to be completed by fall 2025. Once finished, the expanded parking area will add 34 new spaces to support City Hall, the Clearwater Building and future destinations like the anticipated food hall and museum.

In preparation for these improvements, temporary fencing and equipment is at the Civic Center, surrounding the fountain area. “No parking,” signs will also be posted in impacted areas.

As with all construction, some disruption will occur. Parking in designated areas will be unavailable and public EV charging stations near the Civic Center will be offline during the project. Updated charging availability will be reflected in the ChargePoint app. In the meantime, EV users are encouraged to use alternative public charging stations located at Progress Park (15500 Downey Ave) and the Substation (15001 Paramount Blvd).
