Volunteering is Paramount (V.I.P)

V.I.P is a program where high school students who have worked to make a difference in the Paramount community by volunteering can be recognized. 

All high school students residing in the City of Paramount or attending a high school in the Paramount Unified School District are eligible to participate. Students can begin accumulating volunteer hours as early as the summer prior to their freshman year. Below are other proposed program parameters:

• Volunteer hours must be served with a pre-approved organization: non-profit agency; government agency; or private organization.
• Volunteers cannot receive compensation for these opportunities or volunteer for a family-operated business/organization.
• Volunteer hours for Paramount High School events and activities are also excluded thus focusing recognition away from school volunteer hours and more on volunteer hours in the broader community.  
• Volunteers must complete the Pre-Approval Form in order for the hours to qualify for the City Certificate of Recognition.
• Volunteers must use the City of Paramount’s V.I.P. official tracking form and receive a verification signature from the organization (an email from the organization would suffice or a physical letter).
