Public Records
Public Records Act Request Policy — Access to information concerning the conduct of the people’s business is a fundamental and necessary right of every person in this State. Records of the County of Los Angeles that are not exempt from disclosure are available for inspection and copying in accordance with the California Public Records Act upon a request that reasonably describes an identifiable record or records. (Los Angeles County Code § 2.170.010(a).)
The California Public Records Act is found in the California Government Code, beginning at Section 6250. Records subject to inspection and copying include any writings, meaning any handwriting, typewriting, printing, photostating, photographing, and every other means of recording upon any form of communication or representation, including information available in an electronic format. Effective June 1, 2023, the City of Paramount will be using an online web portal for processing public records requests. With the portal, you can submit a request, track the status of your request, and download the responsive records. Please click the link below to access the portal.

The City Clerk’s Office will process all public record requests in accordance with the California Public Records Act.
The following items are not Public Records Acts Requests
- Records requests for birth, death, marriage, real estate, UCC Financing Statements, fictitious business names, and military discharge.
- Records requests for election information including but not limited to voter registration information, voter turnout, election statistics/reports, precinct maps, etc.
- Divorce records.
- Housing and commercial building blueprints.
- Elementary, high school, and college transcripts.
