Founded in 1921, Lindsay Lumber Company became a veritable Paramount institution during its 103 years of operation. Many thousands of board feet of lumber and other building materials from this company were used to build homes and businesses throughout Paramount. They also sold garden equipment, paint and a wide array of other products to both professional contractors and countless regional do-it-yourselfers. Located at 15101 Paramount Blvd., the company remained a family-run business from beginning to end. Kevin W. Lindsay and his son Taylor were the final owner-operators. Earlier this year, they decided to close and sell their property, which will now be redeveloped into new commercial enterprises. Lindsay Lumber was one of the earliest companies to join what was then the Hynes-Clearwater Chamber of Commerce in 1924. (Those two Founded in 1921, Lindsay Lumber Company was steadily expanded over its ensuing century of operation. communities were merged to form Paramount in 1948.) Warren Lindsay served on the Chamber board of directors for 21 years and was president in 1926-1927 and again in 1938-1939. Kevin W. Lindsay later served as Paramount Chamber of Commerce president from 2001 to 2003 and again in 2008-2009. We sincerely thank the Lindsay family for their many contributions to the growth of the Paramount community and their numerous, productive years of service to the Chamber of Commerce.`
