The City of Paramount is full of resources and partnerships designed to educate, protect and better serve its residents. One of these partnerships is with the American Red Cross Greater Long Beach and South Bay Chapter, which works with the City to enhance disaster preparedness and emergency response efforts throughout the community.
The Red Cross helps residents prepare for a wide range of emergencies by offering first aid and CPR training, community preparedness education and blood drives. Then, if a disaster strikes, Red Cross staff and volunteers partner with the City to offer relief and recovery resources, shelters, support for military families and veterans, emotional recovery and more.
Recognizing the importance of readiness, the Paramount City Council identified “enhance public preparedness” as one of its top priorities. From earthquakes and wildfires to extreme heat and windstorms, California communities have faced a wide range of emergencies in recent years. The City’s partnership with the American Red Cross helps ensure residents have access to information, training and resources that can make a difference during an emergency.
The American Red Cross Greater Long Beach and South Bay Chapter serves nearly two million people across 25 cities. Whether through resource fairs or direct outreach, Paramount and the American Red Cross share the goal of building a safer, healthier and more attractive community.
