In Paramount, the path to a sustainable future shines brighter than ever, with a range of solar programs designed to make clean energy accessible and affordable for all residents. From single-family homes to multifamily housing units, these initiatives offer valuable resources to help residents reduce electricity costs and promote environmental stewardship.
The City’s commitment to clean energy is exemplified through several key programs, including:
- Energy for All, administered by GRID Alternatives, supports low-income households by offering free solar installations.
- Solar on Multifamily Affordable Housing (SOMAH) program focuses on installing solar systems on multifamily properties.
- The Access Clean CA program connects people with low- to moderate-income to clean energy programs. Their Benefits Finder will show visitors all the programs they may be eligible for and how they can be combined.
To complement these initiatives and streamline the process of solar installation, the City of Paramount has adopted SolarAPP+ (Solar Automated Permit Processing Plus). This platform simplifies and accelerates the permitting process, making it easier to take advantage of the available solar programs.
By integrating SolarAPP+ with Paramount’s solar programs, the City not only encourages the transition to clean energy––supporting the City’s goals outlined in the Climate Action Plan––but also ensures that the installation process is as efficient and user-friendly as possible for residents
