Public Art

The Paramount Public Art program is committed to expressing the spirit of our community in art projects located throughout the city. We hope to foster creativity among our community and create a thriving public art program that reflects the culture and values of Paramount. Our goal is to improve the quality of life through the arts for all Paramount community members.

Outdoor Art Museum

If you enjoy viewing interesting works of public art, take a tour of Paramount’s Outdoor Art Museum. There are dozens of sculptures located throughout the City that vary in style from abstract shapes to lifelike figures. Our fountains are included, too. Keep an eye out for all of them; you’ll like what you see.

Paramount Paints

In 2020, the City of Paramount started Paramount Paints, a mural program designed to continue and expand the City’s outdoor public art museum to produce a lively sense of joy and color for passersby.

Paramount Paints Mural Program

Below is a Call for Artists for an opportunity earlier this year inside the Spane Park Learning Center. The submission deadline was March 13, 2026. The City Council reviewed proposals by three finalists on April 14, 2026.

Public Art Master Plan

Recognizing the profound impact of artistic expression, Paramount developed its first-ever Public Art Master Plan (PAMP) to provide a unified vision for the selection, placement, growth, and ongoing management of public art around the City.

A key component of the plan’s development was the highly collaborative outreach campaign, “Your Voice. Our Canvas.” which elevated community voices during the creative process through a series of hands-on engagement activities. The City invited residents, students, businesses, and the community to participate so that future art pieces reflect the culture, spirit, and integrity of Paramount.

Public Art Advisory Committee

The Public Art Advisory Committee is comprised of two City Councilmembers and either professional artists with considerable knowledge and experience in the arts, and/or a community stakeholder. The Committee reviews and provides recommendations for Public Art Fund projects. This is the key advocacy body for the City’s Public Art Program, including planning and commissioning public art.
