Permit Application
Online submittals are available for all permit applications. As an alternative method, plans can also be submitted in person at the Planning and Building and Safety counter. Counter submittal hours of operation are:
Monday – Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Closed from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM every Wednesday
What to know before you submit
ADU Plan Submittal Requirements
When submitting plans for an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU), please ensure that your plan set includes the following components. Each item should be provided on its own individual sheet and reflected accurately in the sheet index:
- Title Sheet – Include project information, parcel number, scope of work, applicable codes, and contact details.
- Existing and Proposed Site Plan – Show all structures, setbacks, property lines, easements, and relevant site details.
- Existing and Proposed Floor Plan – Provide detailed floor plans showing existing conditions and proposed layout changes.
- MEPS Sheets – Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural sheets must be included as applicable.
- Title 24 Energy Calculations – Include required documentation for energy compliance.
- Administrative Action Documentation – If required, include a copy of any administrative action or approval documents.
Each of these documents must be placed on separate sheets and clearly listed in the sheet index to ensure a complete and compliant submittal package.
Example Plan Set: Insert pdf sample of administrative action or other planning approval documents incorporated into plans.
You will need to fill out a few required fields (*) such as: Property Information (main address associated with the lot/APN), Applicant name, email address, detailed description of work, project address (where the job will be taking place), and planning approval.
If your project requires an upload to be accompanied with your application and is over 100MB, please note that in the description.
Please upload contractor license information, authorization letters, and Paramount city business license at time of submittal.

You will need the permit number assigned. Use this link provided for the following:
- Pay for fees
- Check inspection status/corrections
- Check Plan check status
- Request an inspection
Inspections requested before 4:00 PM PST will be scheduled the next available day. Inspection requests made after 4:00 PM PST will be scheduled two business days later (excludes holidays & weekends).

Please email completed form with a copy of your certification to the Special Inspector Registration Inbox to complete the registration process: SIRegistration@paramountcity.gov The Building & Safety Division will reply with a city approved daily form.
