CARES ACT
CDBG funding related to the CARES ACT
The United States Congress passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, and the President signed it into law on March 27, 2020, authorizing $2.2 trillion in a variety of stimulus measures to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. The law included $2 billion CDBG-CV1 for entitlement communities, of which the City received $466,928. An additional $2 billion of CDBG-CV3 funds were allocated for states and local government with the City of Paramount having received $468,314, for a cumulative total of $935,242 of CARES Act funding. Pursuant to HUD regulations, the City of Paramount prepared an amendment to the Annual Action Plan for the 2019-2020 program year, and the link below outlines the amendment as adopted by City Council on June, 8, 2022.
